Preparing.
- Anticipate problems before the event--be prepared for anything (i.e., DVD player doesn't work, need extension cords, etc.)
- Take advantage of set-up times during the day - often, the best and most motivated students/alumni are waiting at the door and you don't want to be setting up when they walk by
Display
- A good exhibit is simply a stage for information exchange - you are the focus, not your exhibit
- Your visual message should give even a casual observer a clear idea of what you do
Exhibit Staff
- Students/Alumni remember the people not the display
- Make a good first impression - students/alumni will base their opinion of your organization on YOU. Staff must be very knowledgeable.
- Know yourself, your position, your organization, and where students/alumni may fit into that entire picture.
- Wear name tags prominently
- Arrive on time and prepared to meet the exceptional candidates that we have to present.
- Don't wait for visitors to approach you - be assertive, friendly and sincere.
- We request that you remain at your booth until the fair's end as attendees are counting on your presence.
After the Fair
Respond to all inquiries personally and as quickly as possible to reinforce your positive connections and guarantee the best future employees for your organization.
